Hi, I’m Perry Payne and first I’d like to thank you for taking time to read my blog. I am a 10th generation Virginian (USA) and ever since I was a kid have been fascinated by maps, history and the allure of faraway lands. I always looked forward to the stories told to me by family, friends and neighbors who traveled to exotic places and brought back amazing tales of the things they saw and the people they met along the way.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to have jobs that have enabled me to visit some very interesting locales on just about every continent, but as it was for work (usually)…

…I spent much more time in airports and conference rooms than sight-seeing and riding the Hop-on Hop-off buses in those far flung cities.
So this is my chance to Follow the Equator, Mark Twain style – part tourist, part observer of human nature, with open eyes, mind and heart…

I also plan to spend time with various experts in the security field around the globe – the #securitysafari part. My hope is to take what I learn along the journey and apply it in some meaningful way to help colleagues and partners after my #cybersabbatical comes to a close and I’m back traveling to offices and conference rooms rather than deserts and jungles!
So sit back, enjoy the ride and please feel free to like, follow, comment or reach out directly with any questions.
Cheers!
Perry
